MASTER SCUBA DIVER TRAINER (MSDT)
WHO CAN DO MSDT?
To enroll on the Instructor Specialty programs you must be a PADI Instructor.
It is possible for PADI Assistant Instructors to participate in the programs and to gain certification in non-diving areas. For Specialty's that contain dives, the Assistant Instructor must successfully complete a IDC and IE and have 25 certications before being certified in the area.

WHEN IS MSDT CONDUCTED?
Instructor Specialty programs are usually conducted after each IDC/IE program. They can also be scheduled any time if you require... No problem as we have full time Course Directors on staff.
STAFF INSTRUCTOR
WHO CAN BECOME A STAFF INSTRUCTOR?
To enroll on this course you need to be a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer in teaching status.
WHAT IS A STAFF TRAINNG COURSE?
This course is run in conjunction with the PADI IDC. We start the Staff Course 2 days before every IDC.
Which makes the duration of the course 11 days. During the first 2 days we cover the following pre-assessment:
# 5 theory exams (pass mark 80%)
# standards & Procedures exam (pass mark 80%)
# confined water presentation (pass mark 4.0)
# classroom presentation (pass mark 4.0)
# skill circuit evaluation (pass mark 80 out of 100, with no skill less than 4.0)
We also cover the following areas of academic training:
# DC Staff Instructor Orientation IDC Standards and Curriculum
# Organizing the Assistant Instructor Course
# Psychology of Evaluation and Counseling Evaluation Training in Academic
# Confined Water and Open Water Training (pass mark +/- 0.5 of control score)
Following these 2 days you will audit the IDC sitting in on all portions, with a lot of practice of evaluating candidates alongside the Course Director. IDC Staff candidates find that they tend to learn more about the diving industry and the IDC during this course than when taking the IDC as there is no exam at the end.
